OPENING TIP

Welcome to this Guide!

This pretends to be a help point throughout NBA Playoffs'10 for 'Drive to the Finals' Fantasy Game of NBA.com

We will have to chose one different player each day of the playoffs (we can only pick each player once during all the playoffs). His performance that day, measured as PRA (Points+Rebounds+Assist), will be the points scored.
Is that easy!

Let's see 10 easy rules that we will have to remember to make the most of our picks:

1. Fill your brackets
The first thing you should do is make a prediction for the whole playoffs, including how many games do you expect the teams will need to advance to the next round.
Don't hesitate using bet pages to get info.

2. Save your players!
If you put Lebron, Kobe, Howard... in the first week, you will hurt your team twice: you'll lose the chance to pick the stars of the teams that are eliminated, and you will be forced to use role players in the last rounds.

3. Flexibility
It is expected that the Cavs win the Bulls the series. But if suddenly Bull go 3-0 you'll have to change your plans and think in entering Lebron.

4. Info
Be aware of injuries. The worst thing that could happen you is to start a star that is taking a day off. A DNP is the worst thing you could get!

5. Schedule
Take in account which days plays each team. You don't want a day with two elimination games and with more than one useful player to use.

6. Home/Away
Some players have best PRA home than away. Always take a quick look at NBA.com player stat page, season splits, and be sure that your player is a baby outside is home court.

7. Let away emotions
Here there is nothing more than winning. You can be a great fan of DJ Mbenga, but unless Gasol, Bynum, Odom & Powell are shutted down you shouldn't consider the big fella ;)

8. I'm on fire!
If a player has a great week, think twice before erasing his name of your short list

9. Experience
If you have doubts between two players, don't forget that his PO's experience is a great undervalued stat. The experience is a great factor in Playoffs.

10. Read this guide everyday!
Hehehe... I'll put my choice, but also other options, and why those are the best choices. If this helps you, fills the goal.

USEFUL ADDS:

players:
You can see for each team:
-the expected result
-left column, their best players PRA, (in February and March)!
-right column, their adjusted PRA, based in the pace of their opposite team (which is above), red >30, yellow >20
-some players are in blue, this means something disruptive. A player who appears (Bynum, O'Neal...) or a player who dissapears (Roy, Bogut, Lopez...) and how that causes a change in value
-above is also the money you get if you bet 1$ for that team wiing the series.
-The teams which are expected to lose the series are in yellow. If a sweep or 5 games are expected they are in green

timetable
-VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE THE PREDICTIONS

AND HAVE FUN!

  1. Nice site, man. Considering the NBA Playoffs last for what seems like an eternity, I'll be sure to check in often.

And great picks through the first 3 days. Personally, I went Rose, Jax, Boozer (hoping to use the latter 2 before they get too banged up/eliminated). Wish I would've stuck w/ Noah for Monday, but oh well. Hoping for a KD bounce-back game Tues. Cheers, buddy.
